N82 battery life going down

Two weeks before noticed that my N82's battery draining fast than usual which was atleast last a day with normal use. I thought might be any application which is draining my battery so i removed all applications. But then too it was behaving the same. Then one day i decided to use my phone without the memory card (Sandisk 8GB) with normal usage. Oh! It worked fine. So i though might be the card is having problem so i formatted my card today. And now trying to get my conclusion till tomorrow. Can anyone tell whats causing my battery to drain fast and it has become to 12hrs where before it was 24hrs.

NB-
I have tried everything to format my device itself from soft reset to hard reset but nothing came out of it.
Also don't feel that the battery is having any problem

Thanks for your support.

Re: N82 battery life going down

does it have wifi and blutooth? those will be the ones i'd try to turn off first. also decrease the timeout for the screen backlight and not use the 100% brightness.

Re: N82 battery life going down

Also now another problem has risen up that the battery shows full 7 bars till mid usage and then suddenly goes to 1 bar and states 'battery low'! Also after half an hour it increases my battery bars to 4 or 5 bars automatically! Is this a battery problem or something else? Tomorrow i'm going to Nokia Care.

you can also try to install this and see how and what and when consumes your power. do you have the latest firmware on your phone? did you try your phone with another memory card? it could be that your memory card got damaged/corrupted and tho you can format it, it does not 'like' to be in your phone anymore? and yes a walk to nokia care might not be a bad idea but i would try those things before i take it.

Re: N82 battery life going down

Yes i tried to use Energy profiler but it shows normal usage. And then suddenly battery bar goes to 1 and after sometime it goes up by 2 or 3 bars! I'm trying another card(512MB) and see what happens. Also i have latest firmware V31.0.016 on my device. Yesterday when i went to NSC then they said to upgrade my firmware but it is already on latest firmware. Also i formatted my card (8GB) several times. But no luck!

Re: N82 battery life going down

Local Nokia Care says that i have to update my phone, but i'm running my phone to the latest one already. Then they say that the battery is the only one having the problem and recommended me to change the battery. But as i posted in my first post battery is not having any problem. I'm searching for my friends battery and would like to try it out with it to see whether really my battery is at fault or my device or maybe my 8GB card. As far as i know many N82 users use 8GB card and more capacity cards and have no problem then why it is with me?
Waiting any response, thanks in advance.

Re: N82 battery life going down

Most power problems are often caused by a the network condition, a change in the users habits or a defective battery. In rare circumstances it can be faulty hardware in the phone or even the charger.

How can you be so certain that it's not the battery?

Batteries only have a finite life and can become defective at any time.  Other factors could have also affected the batteries life span, such as exposure to high temperatures (for example left in direct sunlight for an extended period).

Network performance can also have a massive effect on battery life.  For example if you are constantly in a medium to poor signal area your battery will drain much quicker.  This can happen when using standard GSM networks or 3G networks, which cause even more of a drain.

Rebooting a phone also causes a large drain, so if you are switching your phone off several times a day that will be the cause.

Having the screen set brighter or lit more often will also cause a big drain.

Re: N82 battery life going down

Your first part is incorrect with me. The second part justifies my problem! I have a poor GSM network and i dont use 3G. And yes i reboot my device quite a time in day. Well i have checked my phone using with another battery of my friends and planning to buy another new battery tomorrow itself. Also my battery changed its shape. It has been blown up and my cover wont fit easily! Ok thankyou for all your support. But can it be any software related issue? Because NSC is telling me to update my firmware.
