NFC - No decent apps :(

Id love to use NFC but i cannot find any decent apps in the store for my 808, the Nokia Tag Writer is extremely basic and not what im after.

It would be nice if i could set up a tag in the car to switch car mode on, increase volume output, switch off wifi, etc, and then make the tag automatically switch so if i tap it again it undoes everything and returns the phone back to its normal state.

My mate can do all this with his android phone but it seems all i can do is useless stuff like business cards, phone numbers, text messages, or web addresses, none of which i actually want to do!!!!!

Any ideas??

Re: NFC - No decent apps :(

what you find on the Nokia Store is unfortunately what you are going to get, as Symbian is now in maintenance mode and developer support is slowly but surely waning, as developers move to other platforms to develop for.

Re: NFC - No decent apps :(

I think Symbian has been very badly supported considering the number of people still using the system on completely usable and serviceable phones where scrapping is just a waste of money. What would it take for Nokia to promote or support some development or just a conversion of apps for these older phones (and some not really that old) - it might keep people with Nokia rather than to ditch'em in favour of better supported manufacturers.

The so-called User Guide I had with my 2yr-old Nokia was utter rubbish - it told you what you could do, but didnt tell you how; and didnt explain all the menu options or setup procedures. Even the Nokia shop people were vague and obviously disappointed with the phones.

Not satisfied with Nokia? You aren't alone. Nokia should make some effort to reward loyalty with better support ratther than moving on from their Big Mistake.
