Nokia 500 Touch Screen Issue

Hello..

 

I have a Nokia 500 on which a friend of mine accidentally (read 'idiotically') spilled tea and it's touch screen stopped responding.

Obviously the warranty is void now and I am not willing to spend a lot of money on it either by sending it to the Nokia care centre. I tried changing the touch screen panel but it didn't work - either the panel I got was also faulty or there is some other issue in the phone itself.

Any ideas where the problem might lie if it is not the touch screen panel?

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I think you can't say that this is an issue of the Nokia 500 since your phone experienced a water damage. maybe because of that the phone might not function the way it use to be. Sending it to a care point would be the best solution to get this fix..
