I recently purchased the 5530 phone and I have a few questions regarding managing the contacts on the phone.
How do you re order contacts on the home screen? For example you want to move one contact near each other (move the 10th contact next to the 1st contact) because they are the person you text a lot to.
On the contacts menu, how do you re order the mobile number if you have multiple entries for the same person? Say for example you prefer a specific carrier and you want that number to be first on the list. Making a temporary mobile number slot so you can reorder (a->b, b->c, c->a) it is kinda dumb and tedious specially if you have several contacts to edit.
Hope somebody can help me solve these little problems.

Hi, you can organise your contacts in groups, so put your most used ones into say , Friends. And as for prefoential contact number, put all the numbers you have for each contact on one entry eg John Smith, select him and select options--edit then put the number you want to use most as his contact number (mobile). Once you've done this add all the other contacts you have for him, home, work, works mobile, e-mail etc. Then whenevr you call/message him the first contact detail you entered will be offered to you and you can use it. Hope this helps.
Good Luck

Thanks for the reply carman58, but my issue is if you already have the numbers entered. Say John Smith has two mobile number and for some reason he prefers to use the second number listed on his contact as his primary number, how would you go about swapping the location? Much like the priority setting of the access point for the wifi, you can swap them around and I am looking for this functionality in the contacts menu.
Hope you can help me more on this one. ![]()

Sorry, but I don't think the option/function you require exists. Have you tried ( once a contact is chosen) Options--Defaults in which you can pick a deault number/email address and then change again if you want to alter it ?
Good Luck

The 5530 defines the word "tedious".
Getting wicked tired of "exit" drill getting out of things...
