Nokia 5800XM Error message

Hi. I keep getting a message coming up when I'm trying to open a text message to read. It says "Text Messaging : Memory Full, close some applications then try again". Now, I have no other applications open so I don't know why its doing this.

 

Does anyone know a solution?

Then after that, what happens to the phone? Does your phone hangs? Crash or what?
