Nokia 700 display will not shut down

I have some problems with the display on my 700. Some times when i pick up my phone from my the screen is lit up and will not shut down again. The only solution I have found so far is to restart the phone, nothing else helps. Sometimes I have to restart the phone several times to get the screen to shut down. I wonder if there is a better solution to this problem?

If firmware is updated through Nokia Suite, then I have done so because there is nothing new for my phone there. If firmware is found elsewhere, then I have not updated it.

I have the same problem with my 808 pureview, but mine appears when the phone is restarted, after that even if i lock the phone, the screen won't turn off.

To sort that (temporarily), I have to turn off the phone and take the battery put for a couple of minutes.

So annoyed!

Well, there's no solution for this issue yet. Tried reinstalling the firmware. The problem still exists. Sadly no one is going to listen to us.

hi mate,

if you have tried re-instlling your current firmware, then your only option may be to perform a three-finger hard reset. Backup all your personal data first as this reset wipes everything, so backup everything to your PC and/or online storage first.

Failing that, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care for inspection: http://nokia.com/support
