Hi,

I have just bought the 701 and noticed that it is full of bloatware. I have tried uninstalling the main culprits but the phone is stopping me. Can anyone advise how to remove the following applications:

CNN Video

E!

Nat Geo

Movie Teasers

Orkut

topApps

Surely this must be possible?

 No you can not delete these as they are pre-installed

what you can do is create a new folder call it  "unused apps " or anything and then move the unwanted apps into it

 But I have since found out with Public Transport   if you update to a new version then it will let you delete it

so one down 8 more to go !!

Hehe I beat you to it and created a suitable folder to hide them in. Strangely when you put them in such a folder they disappear from the "Already Installed" list. Annoyingly when I updated the phone to FP1, Nokia installed another piece of bloatwear in the form of CNN News. I then deleted this but it remains as an update item....grrr.

 Yes my CNN keeps wanting to update may update and the try to remove by using delete option on App

 As i said Thats the way I deleted Public Transport

 FP2 should be out late September so we will see what that does

Unfortunately as the CNN News application has been delivered as an optional update, even if you install it and then remove it, the update process will still nag you about it when you next check for a software update (a bit like the MS Office apps did).

I wish Nokia would not bundle in such software with their phones, or at least offer the ability to remove them cleanly.....unless these companies help fund operating system changes / updates in it's twilight years.

Would be nice to hear from someone at Nokia on this.
