So my 808 popped up with a message saying that it can't detect my Sim and I need to reboot
So I reboot the phone and... the phone wont load pass the Nokia "connecting people" handshake it just sits there frozen
and I can't force a restart I can only remove the battery and try again but the same thing happens....

There are lots of problems with this phone which is a great shame. Mine is only stable with the mobile data setting on off. I hope they can find a fix but I fear that Nokia are stalling in admitting there is a problem. I want to keep my phone but fear I may have to return again to Amazon as this is my second phone.
my nokia 808 pureview is giving trouble from the day one. it behaves erratically some time. like sometime when i am browsing or when i am surfing my nokia maps it hangs and it feels that cell got switched off except when u use the unlock button there is a vibration otherwise phone is completely dead even for display as well... and unless i remove the battery and switch it on there is no other way to get my cell working again.my os version is 112.020.0310 with custom version 112.020.0310.222.01 and product code 059P7Z2..

Although all data would be erased you could try carrying out three key depressed power on "hard reset" as an emergency measure to restore telephony function to device as a precursor to returning to Care Point, since some essential files required for Nokia Maps & Store would aslo be deleted by this procedure if successful.

Nokia Canada refused to fix it, local phone shop said nothing wrong with hardware, tried to reinstall firmware but got an error code (#12052) which is not fixeable, no reply from nokia help via twitter, no real solution from this forum, no..........really shameful support for a world class phone
