I have recently purchased the Sony SRS-U10 Universal Speaker Dock for use with my Nokia N8 as I tend to hammer spotify and wanted something for the bedroom and it seems ideal and even has somewhere to connect the charger cable discreetly.
The issue I have is that even when charging on mains power my screen will switch off after 60 seconds, if there any way I could create a profile that would allow the screen to stay switched on so I can see what's playing without having to unlock the handset every time I want to skip a track.
I have had a hunt round the forums but can't seem to find anything.

Excellent question...something like having "Always On" when plugged into power option on a laptop....would love that too.

Currently, there is no way to set up a profile on Situations or through the regular profiles manager so that your screen would stay on to play music. Since Situations is still in Nokia Betalabs, you could suggest (and hope that they see it), that profiles could also control the screen timeout length.

I have been looking at QT, I was thinking if it would be possible to create a QT application that could be ran in the background allowing the screen inactivity sensor to infinty, resulting in screen on all the time I think?
There appears to be a statement that can be called from QWSServer class called:
void QWSServer::setScreenSaverInterval ( int milliseconds) [static]
Sets the timeout interval for the screensaver to the specified milliseconds. To turn off the screensaver, set the timout interval to 0.
Note that this function can only be used in the server process.
I have tried slapping it into QT creator and can get it to run on the simulator but when trying to build it I get a failure but I don't really understand it and don't know enough about it.
Any QT peeps who have played with this?
Well I am still trying to figure this one out, have had no joy getting it to run on an actual handset, but it works fine on the simluator, would it be more helpful if I posted the project files on here for someone to take a look at if this is a valid solution to the problem.
Any extra input would be much appreciated?
