I bought a used Nokia N8 (without sim) which was reset to factory settings by the last owner.
i used my sim on it and it loads up fine but i cant register the sim card because it doesnt have a mobile network available? i also cant phone with it etc. when i try to find the mobile network it says no access.
I think i have tried everything to gain access on it phone wise could it be a sim problem?

Hope the phone is not locked to any Network. Borrow the SIM(s) from your friends / family members and confirm if any of these works fine. If they do then get your SIM replaced thru' your Operator. Most Operators will do that for free. If the problem remains with other SIMs too. contact the person who sold you this phone and ask for clarifications ...

@TryMar
If this is T-Mobile (UK) you could always call them from landline on 0845-4125000 and provide the sim serial number located at the back of your sim. it's 2 set of numbers and they will be able to verify whether the sim is active.
