My headset (WH-701) is no longer recognized by my nokia N8 after I had updated to nokia belle. I first have to put my headset into the 3,5 mm AV connector before being recognized, and even then the headset may stop working after a few minutes. Once the headphone is working I still cannot make use of the (music)buttons on the headset (louder, softer, next, previous, etc.) Please can someone help with this problem? There must be a solution for this? I am using the headphones every day.
I know that already started on several topics, but Nokia has still not responded to this problem!
Thanks in advance for your help

It could just as well be one or more broken wires in the headset lead - my WH-701 lost the left channel some time ago. Belle should not make a difference. Try another headset?

My N8 stopped recognizing my headphones after I updated to Belle, but I figured out why, and I thought I would post in case it could help someone else. My phone was missing a folder in the mass memory called "Nokia _Belle". My husband's phone still had it, and headphones were working on his phone, so I copied the file over and now headphones work on my phone. The folder must contain a configuration file in it somewhere that is needed for the phone to recognize the headphones.
I have no idea why after the update some phones have the correct file and some don't. I updated both our phones at the same time, so I don't understand the discrepancy.
