I just heard through the grapevine that Nokia won't be releasing the N900 in Australia, what gives??  After three years of disappointing product releases on an ageing clunky Symbian platform that developers are rapidly losing interest in, the N900 was a ray of hope.

My N95 is literally falling apart and I'm sick to death of waiting for Nokia to show any signs of life.

Am I screaming in to the void here or is anyone out there??

Myself and hordes of others are currently looking at other options namely Android based phones with Sony, Samsung, etc - at least something is *available* there or we'll be waiting until the next epoch to get a new phone.

Nokia - get your act together or at least respond openly with some intelligible level of detail on this forum.  I'm sick of the scripted responses and aloof disregard for customers and competition as 'not a threat'.

Fine, think that, there's no shortage of choice in the market that is currently being swamped with fantastic products while Nokia sits around doing nothing of interest.

No, the N97 is not an option, nor are any of the other 'products' being fobbed off at the moment - compared to the competition - it's a no brainer.

Give it a chance it probably will be eventually. I can't imagine the cost designing and manufacturing enough units to satisfy initial demand upon release. It would have to be round a hundred million at least. Nokia may not have the resources to afford a worldwide launch. Keep in mind that we are still in a recession. The N97 wasn't released all that long ago. They are probably still trying to get their money's worth of that.
