Nokia Pure View 808 Headset compatibility issues

Hi,

 

I recently bought a headset from Philips (Citiscape Downtown SHL 5605BK to be exact) which says on it's box that it is compatible with all Nokia phones as a headset. However when I connect it to my Pure View 808 it says that it is not supported. What should I do? How can I make my phone support my headset?

 

The specs of the headset are as listed:

 

Frequency range: 18-22000 Hz

Sensitivity: 102dB

Impedance: 32 Ohm

Driver: 40mm

Got a suspicion that Philips (http://www.philips-shop.co.uk/store/catalog/headphones/headband/downtown-on-ear-brown/productdetail/... mean that their headset compatible with newer Nokia Lumia devices wired to AHJ standard rather than Nokia 3.5 mm TRRS (stereo-plus-mic) sockets. You may need to use adaptor such as this http://www.meelec.com/MEElectronic_TRRS_Adapter_for_P_Version_Headphones_p/adptr-trrs-35.htm
