Yeah, that's how it USED to work- not anymore. It no longer works.

  Yeah, on YOURS! Not mine. Mine has issues..you wait. It will happen to you too. Just wait. First it was the analog keyboard that stopped working then it was the virtual keypad. I just reset it and now it's working again. The software is horrific and is not stable at all. It will get you as well. I have had mine for about a month now and, it was fine up until last week or so. It was even fine right after the update initially. But, it didn't take long for it to bug out.

If the N97 work NOT in english (I use in italian language) and if you have  more than 300 contacts the vocal syste to call a contact no working right! Is incedible because when I switched to english laguage to see the message "no vocal name recorded" in english, I discover in english was OK...

Also,it seems that the voice dial system does not work properly, while set in Italian, when you try to make a video call, or anything that is not the simple call to the contact. I mean, it works if I just say the person's name, and it has terrible problems (that is, it quite always calls another contact) when I try to say "video call to <name>" (or whatever it is in English, I don't know because I use Italian language).

Anyway, I suppose that we are just talking to ourselves, becase I have not seen a single answer, even just to acknowledge that they actually read the forum, from Nokia. So we're just wasting our time.

I tried 3-4 times to update FW to V11, and it worked at last. Here are my worst bugs:

1. Camera. When open lens-cover, camera do not start all the time.
2. Signal. Signal is soo poor! This HAS to be fixed, but i think it´s HW faulty!
3. Tocuh. When i flip me screen up, and for ex. enter Imagegallery, i can´t open images by touch. Must use Navi!
4. Build. When screen is flipped open, there is an wobble, sad but true!

I WILL COME TO FINLAND AND SHOW IT UP YOUR **bleep**. I LIVE IN SWEDEN, ITS NOT FAR! BELIVE ME **bleep** IF NOT FIXED, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you have some beef with nokia use the 'contact us' button on the top right of this page. we are users just like yourself so threatning us will accomplish nothing at all. if anything will trun some of us off to assist in the future. why should i bother assisting someone who has such an approach. i get you are frustrated and **bleep** off but this is just a support forum for users like yourself. we either have an answer or we don't, nobody pays us to be here. we are here because we chose to and want to assist those that have questions and querries in regards to products and issues they might be experiencing.

Got RM505 11xxxxx (Latest) firmware... and my phone is rebooting itself quite 4 -5 times a day (can't say about night because I'm sleeping at night... that problem was on 10xxx firmware also... first I thought it was because of  AccuWeather widget...disabed it and nothing changed... then I thought it was Handy Shell... disabled - still same **bleep** (autoreboots) what is that??? is this sowtware bug or should I go to service centre???

battery indicator stuck at full - extremely annoying

keyboard unresponsive when attempting to reply to sms - happened about 4 times, had to reset to fix.

applications closing randomly without warning - very annoying and has usually happened to me when using opera mini

unlock key still doesnt always unlock the phone - for the love of god wasnt this supposed to be fixed?

i can get over the fact that the phone is not too user friendly and is not as responsive as i would have liked it. i like the phone when it is working the way its supposed to but all these bugs are just unacceptable. im at a point where i dont even know if i want to keep the phone or just jump on the iphone bandwagon.

I must admit guys that the only big I have is the phone freezing when I accept a phone call which I hope will be fixed in some of the upcoming FW. .

it's more simple: in italian (and I see too french and german) when you have more than 250-300 contacts, in the contact if you want see the "voice tag details" you have the answer "no voice tag saved for this contact" and so the name for the phone not exist. :-(

Yes, I've got exactly the same trouble.  Oddly enough, I didn't notice the problem under V10, but it seems broken under V11.

Was it a *#7370# reset you did to get it back?

Here are some bugs that are making me go crazy when I use this phone:

1. Network reception is very very bad! In places indoors where I had full coverage with N95 I am now getting max 3 bars of coverage. If I move around house while on call, call quality drops significantly and other party keeps asking me to repeat what I am saying.

2. Camera: Flash does not light the pictures evenly - the lefthandside of picture is always much birgher than the right. So forget about taking nighttime pictures for now!

3. E-mail client in messaging does not support HTML. Total nightmare when using my Gmail as I have to scroll down to find message text within all the HTML codes. Also, when setting up connection methods for each mail account, there is no option to select 'Always ask' for access point in use.

4. MMS sending: when I select image size as 'small' in MMS settings, it makes photos in MMS larger than 100kb. N95 used to make the whole message fit within 100kb which is a useful feature if you are charged differently for different sized messages.

5.  Audio quality for music played on speakers is very bad! It makes it sound like a very cheap MP3 player. Well downgraded from N95!

6. GPS - in Maps application, when you select 'Tools - Go online' sometimes I get a message 'no connection' although it never gives me an option to select what access point to use. It automatically tries to connect via the last used connection, which is very annoying. An option needs to be added here to select 'Always ask' in 'Maps - Settings ' Internet connection' - 'Network destination'.

If these things don't get fixed within the next month or so, I will send the phone back to the shop and ask for money back as a malfunctional product!

When the screen is locked and I press any button, or a message/unanswered call occurs, the homescreen instead of dimming, goes totally black.
It happens 8 out of 10 times.

To be more spesific, instead of looking like this:

**I only use the N series 1, 2 and 3 themes that came pre-installed on my phone
and this happens regardless of the theme.
