N8 comes with quickoffice.  Open an email attachment with QO. Document opens. Scroll down and the promp asks you to upgrade or continue. Upgrade. Sorry Quickoffice is not available for N8.

I don't get it.

Go to quickoffice website. Same deal. Quick office is not available for N8.

Is there any software for N8 which will read a docx file?

Did that but the N8-00 is not on their list.  Do I choose a different phone?

That's strange! It was actually my IT-manager who did the final installation of Quickoffice so I'm not sure which phone he picked instead of N8...

Have you tried to contact Quickoffice? After all, they have the N8 on their start page...

What version of Quick Office is installed on your N8? You should have version 6.4.166. which came with the recent firmware update to PR 1.1.

It is not possible to purchase QuiceOffice 8 either from their website or OVIStore. N8 is not listed on the QuickOffice site. Also OVIStore promts that the product is not available on N8. What ironic is; when you enter to the QuickOffice website, the site welcomes you with the words create, edit, view with a big image of a Nokia 8.

Don't purchase Quickoffice because it is included for free in the Pr 1.1 update.

 In addition to my previous post, if you are still stuck on v6.2 even after upgrading to PR 1.1

you need to goto Application manger > Installed apps and scroll down to Quickoffice AP. Long press it and choose un-install. Then your phone will have the updated Quickoffice for you to use.

How do I upgrade to PR1.1, when checking updates is says my phone is up to date. It is 5 weeks old now.

The update release is different for each country and carrier, this is the Official Nokia N8 PR1.1 Software Release Schedule: /t5/Software-Updates/Official-Nokia-N8-PR1-1-Software-Release-Schedule/td-p/923407
For some N8's the update is avalaible since a few weeks ago, and some others are still waiting for the update, you need your "product code" to check the schedule (you can get it typing *#0000#)
