Transfering Videos to N97

Hi guys,

Can anyone explain how you can transfer videos to an N97. I have OVI suite but although it picks up the pictures it doesn't pick up any of the videos. The videos are from my previous N958GB handset and don't show up at all in Ovi suite or Nokia pictures. If I select them specifically from a file location then they show up in Nokia pictures but they don't automatically, even though I've set the program to look for them as well as photos. Finally, even though the program sees them, they won't transfer to the phone. Photos do however.

Can anyone help or is anyone else having this problem?

Re: Transfering Videos to N97

Personally I don't bother with ovi or PC suite, I just drag 'n' drop them onto the mass memory using windows.  Obviously that applies if the videos are already in a format supported by the phone, if not I convert them first using an app like mediacoder.

Self converting always gets better results than using nokia's software, as long as you know what you are doing.

Thanks. I just wish I knew why Nokia's own program doesn't recognize videos made by phones Nokia manufactures...

Re: Transfering Videos to N97

Psychomania is 100% correct, as for vids on N95 just connect it to pc with usb, open My Computer and it will show up as an external harddrive, click on icon and files will show up, one will be videos, click on this , then just drag and drop any vids you want to keep into your video file on your pc. Then do the opposite with N97. If you're not too confident with computers, you can always download and install Nokia PC Suite. In that there is a programme to open any video on your computer, convert it and transfer it to your phone, it's easy to use. Just don't open PC Suite and Ovi Suite at same time if updateing software as it may cause a conflict. Hope this helps, assure you it works and is easy to do, I have about 60 vids on N97 including 3/4 full length movies.

If I have helped at all, a click on the White Star is always appreciated :
