Hello, can someone advise as to how I can uninstall redundant applications like CNN Video, E!, Movie Teasers, Nat Geo, Zip....? Each time I try, I get a message "Removing cancelled"....

Hi Bushika,
Thank you for your first post and welcome to the Nokia discussion forums.
The following is taken directly from the Nokia Belle FAQ page:
After the update to Nokia Belle, I'm unable to uninstall pre-installed applications and I get the error message "Removing cancelled" in the application manager. What should I do?
Some preloaded apps, for example CNN video, can't be removed. But you can remove the corresponding widget from your homescreen via a long press on it and then tapping the red cross that appears in the corner.
For further help with Nokia Belle please refer the FAQ page which can be found on the below link:

Hope this helps.

@Raoul: Thank you for your info however, my point is: I do not need some of the preinstalled applications and yet I am not allowed or able to remove them completely but compelled to keep them. If I have the Web or internet widget on my phone why must I have a widget for gossip sites like E!...? Or why must I read news from CNN? Please, let Nokia not make us its slaves rather, give us the chance to consume what we know, want and think is good for us and not what Nokia assumes is good for us! Give me that chance to opt out of this misinformed state.............! And don't push stuff that we do not want/need down our throats.![]()
PS: I cannot accept my problem as solved when it is not but you have marked it "solved"!

Very strange as "Accept as solution" icon only appears for the original poster namely yourself!

Maybe that is the setup that this appears "only for the original poster" but where do you expect me to know/see/such info? This is not only misleading because it only shows the originator but supposedly the other users do not see this, so what is the purpose??? Confuse the "enemy" i.e. we the Nokia customers???? Whose interests do you represent? Please note that you are not addressing my MAJOR problem(why can't we uninstall useless/undesired apps) but a peripheral issue of me saying that I do not accept the label "solved" to my post... Just see the message times: initial msg @9.35pm, second msg @7.22am, third msg@07.01pm and 4th msg @08.06pm. Please, do not waste people's time unnecessarily!Very strange as "Accept as solution" icon only appears for the original poster namely yourself!

This is not a proper answer : some apps cannot be removed"
The reason is ?
Are they crucial to OS functions ? NO
Are they based on the customer region or some request? NO, I have CNN, National Geographis when I am living in Romania and speaking other language thta english.
Why occupy valuable space on C and not installed on E ?
And finally. this is not SOLVED !

You can delete the files by going directly into the memory and deleting them, that's what I did. Worked fine for me.

Can you prove it? It's spreading all over the web, including the sites where they mod Nokia phones, and everyone is talking about this nonsense.
The issue here is Nokia likely has a contract with these app providers and that's why we can't remove them.

Thank you very much for your help ! ![]()
Yes it worked perfectly on my N8.
Just a tip for other users: when you install Ovi Music, installer says that application is not compatible with the device. But you can continue installation without problem, and uninstall it after.
