Dear Where is the option to make widgets go offline? it's not exist after Belle Update and that eat my battery and WIFI always connected and sure if make WIFI offline i'll lose to sync my mail every 15 min as i configure it!  So please help and let me know is it a bug or what and how to work with it!!!! it's really important!

Same kind a problem.

For some reason N8 after Belle update wants to go online all the time.

There is no app open or activated at that time.

Yes,. and no one from Nokia answering us!, We want the option to back again as Battery is killed! we were need an improvement to can make all widget sync every X minutes or Hours and choose if we can do that for WIFI or Data carrier because make it reliable and it was a dream as they even removed the basic option!!, and it also have a problem that Belle hung when using multitask in open two app in same time or while connected to Nokia suite and try doing anything in mobile it's hung!, Belle UI is better than Anna but needs a lot of customization and also need to add Anna features and improve it not to remove it!

Guys, if you are using the wireless widget on your home screen , then the auto scanning will be always turned on and will eat up your battery.If you don't add the wireless widget on the home screen and still leave the wi-fi ON from the status bar drop down , it will work same as anna i.e. it will only scan and connect when a connection needs to be initiated otherwise it will be OFF. So turn ON your wireless but don't add the widget.
The feature of disabling any of the connection (Mobile Data & Wireless) from the status bar is really a great feature NOKIA has introduced.

eg: If you are running out of your 3G or GPRS Plan you can switch it off so that only wireless will be used , same is the case with wireless.

Please remember that when you add new mail accounts they may keep the connection active to check for new email.

I have previously found in Anna messaging keeping connection on particularly with accounts like gmail. Even disabling auto downloads didn't work, setting mail retrieval at least once a week allowed connection to disable

perhaps a security suite like netqin can help with auto connecting apps & widgets

I am not talking about the wireless widget nor I am talking about the mail app. There are widgets out there (facebook, accuweather ...) which are going online alot of time. In Anna I could set these widgets to offline, while mails are still being checked. In Belle there is no way, to set such widgets offline.

There are no app running, at least says so App Stop and NetQin. BUT still my phone needs to go online whenever i allow Wifi or data connection from scroll down menu.

I am having the same issue. My N8 was charged this morning, came off charge at 11am, and it's now 7pm and the battery is completely flat.

I have just removed the wifi widget (it was automatically there upon upgrade) and also turned off my wifi. My internet signal is rubbish so wifi would be more beneficial but I can't keep charging twice daily!

Has anyone found the battery percentage meter since the upgrade? I can't find it and am assuming we don't have it anymore? (I used to press the battery symbol and it would tell me how much % power was left?) now it's just the battery icon

I give up with Nokia. It just looks good for nothing. They are given chances to prove themselves and they continuously disappoint us. I like that Nokia gave us something different and unique but they just don't live up to my expectation. Belle came out and there is no wow about it for me, and it just irritates me even more to be promised the world and only to find rubble. I quite Nokia

You can click on WiFi in the scroll down notification menu and then bring up settings and enable "Power Saving" that seems to wok for me to auto disconnect WiFi.

Disabling wifi has helped my battery life loads. I'm still charging more than I did before this update (used to charge every 2 days, now every day), but it's better than it was before I read this thread

Just press your power button 1 time (don't hold down or it will turn off phone).  This brings up some options, and the bottom option is "Offline".  Hit that and it does the trick.  To go back to on-line mode, do the same thing except press Normal, for your normal profile.

Wanted to come back to see how everyone else is getting on with battery life now it's been a few days or more since upgrading? 

I charged my phone last night after 3 days of usage! I am beginning to think it is as someone else said and it's the phone settling down with new software

I really want this back! Updated to belle last weekend and battery is down pretty fast and I am using too much data
