If you are having this error displayed, try rebooting the phone. If that does not work, then check via your device itself or Nokia Suite if there is a firmware update available, and update to the latest version offered. If that doesn't work, then try re-installing your current firmware through Nokia suite, and if that still doesn't work, perform a three finger hard reset.

That sounds rather slack of them to say they don't know about the problem. I would persist with them and tell them your problem and that it needs to be repaired. I also suggest letting your regions Nokia know additionally, by clicking the Nokia Support link at the bottom of this page, and letting them know what your Nokia Care staff has said about the issue.
