im planning to buy nokia 500, but im still curious if this model can able to upgrade symbian belle since it's OS is anna.

last question, will it run faster when updated to belle? since the nokia 500 doesn't have a 2D/3D accelerator or a GPU since most symbian^3/anna/belle have these specs?

it will be faster but its a cheaper model so it does not have the same specs as other high end devices but its a great mid range phone for the money

thanks for the reply, actually, i've already got the nokia 500, good performannce for a less expensive phone, and also the reason i choose nokia than android phone. thanks again. and i can't wait to upgrade it to belle

i bought this phone 2 days back but its with Symbian Anna and the software version is 010.029. when i search for the updates it says there are no updates and my phone still restarts...i do not know if my phone version is updated or old...and why its still restarting if i have already the update...and i bought it here in middle east

Symbian Belle is coming soon for Nokia 500. It'll solve all the problems.

well, i have the same problem but only during browsing the net. but it doesn't matter to me as long as all applications is working fine, and already updated to 10.031

hey friends i'm from Hyderabad.
three of our friends took same mobile Nokia 500 and having alot problems, even Nokia care ppl can't help me.
weather there is problem with my locality or Nokia 500 in India , it just suck.
camera doesn't function properly and phone restarts and that's how it happens.
now one of our mobile went to company it seems. we're waiting for it..............

I bought my Nokia 500 on 6th Oct here in Mumbai, India. i would rate Symbian Anna a 5.5 on a scale of 10, compared to Blackberry, IOS, Android. Although my 500 does restart on its own, I guess the problem lies in the OS's memory management. Just last night it automatically notified me of an upgrade, which I promptly did from 10.029 to 10.031. Not anything apparent has changed, although I hope it solves the restarting. The restarting also happens only when you use memory intensive applications, like video, Camera etc. Otherwise it works sweetly, no regrets. Good value for money.
