Connect your N8 to PC in mass storage mode and access E:\private\10202dce and move all .sis files to a folder upon PC for safe keeping (these are application uninstall files).
If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white kudos star would always be appreciated.

Thank you that worked great . Its been doing that for almost the entire time i owned it . Two questions . Will i now not be able to uninstall some applications ? If this is true . Was it just one of those sis. files ? If I remove just one at a time and see if it stops then just leave that one out will that be sufficient ?
thanks again

Issue only arises if you want to un-install a particular application and say this had required other dependencies to be downloaded at the same time.and have no idea what these were. You could always "Google" for an application called ".sis contents" that allows you to explore .sis file and see what it is actually for and then you could always restore required .sis to this named folder should you ever need to un-install application in the future.
Themes in particular are notorious for not being able to remove from device.
