can anyone tell me how to unlock my N8 which is on O2 uk, they will not give me the unlock code untel Nov, the phone is a pay as you go, and i got it i nov just gone, if anyone can help me that would be grate

Only o2 canhelp you with this

there is no legitimate non warenty voiding method of doing this without getting an NUC from o2

There may be guys down your local market / shopping centre who can do this for a fiver nut your warenty will be voided

I believed that when 3 months have elasped you are entitled to obtain the unlock code for an admin fee on a payg fone.

Check ofcom for their ruling to check it out.

Dont take no for an answer !

Maybe 02 will void the warranty but you will still have a limited 2 year warranty with Nokia.

Ive checked and I stand corrected...... 12 months for a payg customer is bad. After paying over £300 for a handset I cant see the reason why it would have to be 12 months. Their cannot be much subsidy to recoup !

Hi  i got same problem my nokia n8 is locked on 02 network and i got pay and go sim card over 12 months when i contact o2 to request unlatching code they charge me a fee of 15£ and send me invalid code i try to tap and on my phone it was massage showing: NOT ALLOWED! so now after dozens of e mail with o2 customer service they send me final e mail  saying:

Hello Grzegorz 

I'm sorry if the unlocking code isn't working.

As the unlocking code isn't working, you'll need to contact your phone 
manufacturer (Nokia), as they'll be in a better position to help you.

I'm sorry if this isn't the answer you're looking for, but if there's 
anything else I can help you with, let me know.

Had a similar situation with N8 locked to Tesco (O2- MVNO) and in case you aren't aware you only get three attempts at keypad input of NUC before being locked out. Are you assuming that this is invalid code because you input it more than once and did your #pw+XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX+7# end in 1# or 7#? 

I tried once by keypad, once electonically at local mobile phone repairer and had to send it back to Tesco for device to be cable unlocked; unfortunately once Tesco ceased marketing N8 other users just got an unlocked refurbished device returned rather than the one sent back.

Lastly Nokia will take no responsibilty for what is a network provider issue and O2 are trying to fob you off. Try at least to get some free credit off them for taking 15GBP for nothing!
