Re-registering a US cellphone from the UK

I purchased a Nokia 1661 in the US in September 2009. Is it possible for me to be able to use it again by re-registering it from the UK before I return to the US again in September this year?

I am afraid it may not work in the U.K as its only a dual-band gsm phone. I don't know what you mean by re-registering the phone?

Re: Re-registering a US cellphone from the UK

Apologies for not being clearer. I know I can't use my US cellphone in the UK but I'd like to be able to re-use it in the US as soon as I return in September, 12 months after my last holiday there.

Will I be able to simply put some more credit on the phone and be able to use it immediately, or is there some procedure I need to go through because it won't have been used for approximately 12 months?

Buying a new cellphone every time I visit the US is time-consuming and costly.

Thanks :-)

There should be no problems using the phone once you reach your place. Make sure you charge the phone in between these 12 months though you won't be using it.  :smileywink:
