CS-18 Internet Stick and Mac OSX Snow Leopard Slow

CS-18 Internet Stick Firmware R1.10

Macbook Pro 8,1

Snow Leopard 10.6.7

 

I'm having slow and dropped connections. I've noticed that there is a firmware update for PC but not Mac. if there is a possiblity that this will solve the problem should I try the update on a PC.
