PC Suite not working.

OK here we go.


Years ago, after installing PC Suite version Nokia NSeries Software Launcher v1.1.223.0(c) 2006 Nokia for my Nokia N95, I was able to go to My Computer, click on Nokia Browser, and access files on my phone EASY PEASY.


Now this is no longer the case.  I don't know what happened (could it be to do with installing Samsung software for similar purposes on my Samsung?), But now I can no longer do this. When I double click Nokia Phone Browser in My Comoputer, I get the message "The operation could not be completed", and then it leaves me with a window with options to create a new contact, or create a new message.


Furthermore, PC Suite doesn't seem to want to recognise me phone properly. If I use the Transfer Music function, it comes up with the window, but it is unable to access anything on my phone, and refers to my phone as "Nokia N95 (not supported).


Along my PCSuite travels, I've encountered the following soul-destroying messages:

"Failed to detect available connection type! Please reinstall Nokia PC Suite"

"There is no available connection type and therefore connection to phone cannot be established"


My specs are:


Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3

Nokia NSeries Software Launcher v1.1.223.0(c) 2006 Nokia

Connecting Via Cable (which definitely works as I've had consistently limited success using it with my laptop)

Would really appreciate any help as I would love to get back to how things used to be! :smileyhappy:

Whilst this is a bit like stepping back in time, I would be inclined to blame concomitant installation of Samsung software as these applications provided for mobile phones are very aggressive and try to make sure that their software assumes priority over all others for USB connectivity.
