Problems transferring music

I have a nokia 6230 phone and DKU-2 cable. Currently I have problems trying to transfer music to a new memory card I have brought.

I have transferred 8 tracks, but now I can not transfer any more (the card in 512mb so there is plenty of room). When I transfer another track, halfway through the phone loses connection to the computer, and the transfer fails.

Can anybody help?

Hi,

http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/discussions/board/message?board.id=music&message.id=19

Wayne tells that 6230 only supports 128M. Could that be the reason?

Re: Problems transferring music

Hi Adam,

Nokia says 6230 supports at least 256mb but that's for an official Nokia MMC card MU-9:

Even 1GB has been known to work but I've seen on other forums that people have had problems after they've formatted a card that's 512MB or bigger using their phone.

So can you try formatting the MMC in a MMC reader instead of the phone and then try again?

Re: Problems transferring music

Unfortunatley I do not have a MMC reader. I only got the lead when I saw a second hand one for a penny on Amazon website, and then I got the card.

Currently my phone stopped ringing, so carphone warehouse have agreed to replace it for me.

Once I get the new phone I shall see if that helps.

I don't think the card will be a waste of money, as I am bound to get a phone which is compatible soon enough.
