Can anyone help me please? I have just bought a Nokia Lumia 520 and I keep getting this error message every time I try to download and app (even the free ones) - how can I troubleshoot this? I have re-set the password on my Microsoft account but this has not made any difference.

Just to make sure that the main Microsoft account you are using is set up correctly, I presume you can send and receive emails from this account on your phone. Are you using wifi or mobile data?
thank you - I have mobile data and email account is all set up properly - any other suggestions as to how to resolve this?
Actually I just checked the microsoft account on my phone (rather than on my pc) and it would seem that it was waiting for me to enter the new password, which I have now done and it is all working beautifully. Thanks for the prompt! I've ticked your "was that helpful?" request!

If you're unable to open it, the solution is to re-enter your Microsoft password when you go to Settings > Email+accounts > tap your Microsoft account > re-enter your password > tap the Done icon.

Hello. Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions! You are not able to sign in your MS account in the phone, is this correct? We believe the same issue happens with your Nokia account as you have mentioned, right? If yes, verify that the internet connection is active by browsing any websites via IE. If you are using mobile data connection, we suggest using Wi-Fi this time. For which Lumia phone is this, BTW?
You may try the below steps:
If you are unable to add your existing Microsoft account or create a new account, try the following:
1. Check the phone date and time. Go to Settings > Date+time and manually set the correct time zone, date and time. Try signing in again.
2. If the above action doesn't solve the problem, connect to a Wi-Fi network and try signing in via that network.
3 If the issue still persists, reset your phone in Settings > About > Reset your phone and run the setup wizard again. Be sure to set the correct date and time before trying to sign in with your Microsoft account.
Adding the Microsoft account may fail if the phone date is not correct. It may also fail if the network connection is not working properly or if the phone has got into a state where it needs to be reset.
When the date is wrong or the Microsoft account is missing, you may not be able to download the apps from the Store.

- Is the time and date, time zone and region correctly entered, both on the phone and on https://account.live.com/editprof.aspx
If these basic requirements are met, and it still does not work, then we need the error message word-for-word and the error code (if any) to further assist you.
Hi, Kevynburnett. Have you tried checking if you have a stable internet connection? Can you check if you'll be able to browse the web using the IE app? Also, what type of connection are you using? You can choose between data connectivity and WiFi. It is recommended to use WiFi for more stable connection. You may also try checking if the date and time of your phone is set correctly. If in case this steps do not work, we suggest to try rebooting your phone by pressing the power and volume down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds until the phone vibrates.

Hi, zibuyile. Welcome to Microsoft Mobile Community. What phone model do you have? Make sure you have a stable internet connection when downloading applications from the Store. You may also try to check if your MS account is properly synced by going to setings> email+accounts> tap and hold your MS account and select sync. After synchronizing your account, try to go to the Store and re download the application. Let us know if this helps.
