I have bought a red nokia asha 501 yesterday and i like it very much, but one of my concerns about this device is that when will it get whatsapp?
Solved! Go to Solution.
As it was mentioned in the press release when the new Asha 501 was first introduced
"WhatsApp and other key partners continue to explore new Asha". There's no further update on this right now, but we're working on it.
sir please develop whatsapp as soon as possible otherwise I need to go betterly with other phone models which supports Whatsapp
The subject application is NOT developed by Nokia. You need to contact its developer thru' THIS link ..
If i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
Nokia should know this ! how far they are working on whatsapp ! ! ! ! Such a long time its taking ! And damn line and wechat are taking minutes to open the app itself ! ! Tired of waiting !
Rumours have it WhatsApp is having difficulty makeing their app work on the 501, and of course it is Nokia's duty to help them sort out those difficulties. There's no point in one of the two companies blaming the other - the truth is that if either of the two comapnies really wants to have WhatsApp on 501, then it will become a reality. If Nokia really wants it, they can make WhatsApp do it.
I bought the 501 for my 10 y.o. daughter. It is a brilliant phone for the price tag, I am really excited. She has not yet explored the realm of texting, but I am sure she will sooner or later, and I do hope WhatsApp will be available by that time.
Although I must say that the Microsoft deal made me somewhat pessimistic. I'd expect MS to push Windows Phone into the Asha range, so their priority might be to make Windows Phone run on low cost Ashas rather than upgrading the Asha OS to support WhatsApp.
Therefore, a status update from a Nokia employee as to the current state of the WhatsApp on Asha 501 efforts would be much appreciated. Are you still working on this with the WhatsApp guys?
@ They are working on it seems ! They work all the time regarding this but they are unable to provide whatsapp ! let them work day and night as much as they can ! This issue might be the best example for Nokia--microsoft deal !
