I'm intrigued, after giving up checking on a "daily" basis through the various update mechanisms, I noticed yesterday that Software Update application in my phone indicated Phone Software was available, and it was v12.0.026. The update could not start though. I tried again using Device Updates, and finally got v12.0.026. Software was updated over-the-air, as it was not available when I checked through the PC software.
I noticed, however, that my "Custom version" is 12.0.024.240.03. The "Custom version date" is 25-08-2009, which is also older than "Software version date" 31-08.2008.
I wonder how the custom version fits in with the standard software version. Why would the custom software be older than the standard software? Anyone knows?

Hi, are you from Singapore? If so, which Telco are you from? M1, Singtel or Starhub?
Seem like u can update ur N97 using FOTA.
Alot complain that after upgrading the firmware, the WLAN icon seem like disappear. Can help to verify that?
Thanks!

Hi all, I also just manage to update my N97 to v12.0.0.26 via FOTA. Only about 625kb.
How to update via FOTA.
1. Go to Menu --> Settings --> Phone -->Phone mgmt. --> Device updates.
2. Check for updates.
Reviews:
1. Changing between screen or menu seem faster and smoother.
2. The issue on the unable to wakeup (black screen) from power saving mode using the slider seem like gone.
3. The C:\ drive size seem remain the same. No increment at all, infact, mine reduced (from 20.3Mb to 20.2Mb now).
4. The WLAN Connection icon is still there.
This version seem so much better than v11. You can see the significant speed of switching between screen and menu and look more stable. I'm sure some bugs still unsolved but I find this version quite good already.

My C: has always had extremely little space free. It's like 5MB only. Even after deleting a couple of things that seemed to be installed in C:.
gdspd8: Where did you get your phone from? I'm wondering if perhaps mine comes with too much junk from SingTel.
