Hello every one...

My N91 was giving problems some time back, Gallary wouldn't open, It wouldn't display images, even skipped songs. I searched the site, came accross the NSU. I installed the application and run the update after a while it said no new update available. So I chose to reinstall the software. Everything was fine for a week or so. Then it started giving problems again.

So I decided to follow the procedure again. After I checked the updates today. It was showing new firmware available for your device. I click that and waited. Once everything was completed it said connection to phone failed. Retry for phone recovery. I followed the steps nothing happend. Now phones dead and it JUSt wont respond.

Is my N91 a paper wait or can it fixed??

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Sounds like it could have had some sort of hardware problems all along.

You can try NSU again, but if it doesn't revive the phone, take (or send) it to your nearest Nokia authorized repair/service center and have them fix it: http://www.nokia.com/repair

To me it seems during last Update procedure yr phone got damaged. So take it to the nearest Nokia Service point without delay.
Me have N91 generic and did not give such massive pains as y suffered.

humm... thanks for the reply ... I bought it brandnew box packed. Haven't ever miss handled it. So I doubt it having Hardware problems, no?

Any ways... I am from Pakistan and the problem is there are NO Nokia service centres here. There are alot of authorized shops but they are never careful with the phones, once I sent my 9210i for repairs after they were done with it, it wouldn't read memory cards. So I'll give it for repairs as a last resort.

So isn't there anything I can do?? I mean ... its just the software can't I reinstall or something??

I wish I would have never upgraded!!!

The problem is ...

1) Phone doesn't show charging bars if I try to charge it.
2) It wouldn't turn on
3) I tried hard reset (pressing 3 keys; green, *,3 and pressing the 1/0 switch) Nothing happens.

so isn't there anything I can do??

Hi

I believe that NSU has in some relatively rare cases failed during an upgrade and eft a pesons phone brain dead. There is nothing wrong with the device but unfortunately you have to now bring it to a Nokia Service centre. From what I hear just tell them NSU failed and they will put the new Sw for free.

I know this is several months since your original post, but I feel for you! This just happened to me. Previous upgrades were successful but this one has left my phone in exactly the same state (glad I didn't chuck my old 7650 - still pretty good after the N91, all things considered)

Anyway, I'm glad I'm not the only one. Did you ever get it fixed?

I'm gonna take the advice of "music101" who mentioned the NSU stuff and hope my service company are as understanding as his!

i,ve heard that some people got their dead phones repaired by pheonix.i will not do any works on my dead n91 without any reply.my n91 died in a soft upgrade through NSU.my warranty is over how will i repair it. Iam in india. i bought the phone from uk through o2.could anybody help me ,by the way why does nokia make softwares such as nsu,is it to to brick our phones. cant they provide dead phone reparing service.i've decided not to buy any more nokia phones.they are just a burden.
