The chat app is now marked as available for the n97 mini on the ovi store and it wasn't before. I tried to install it but it says that my phone isn't compatible that I have to launch system upgrade in the system settings.

This is the proof that an update will be available soon.

I contacted Nokia Care for this matter to get answers. But the answers aren't clear.

They say that we have to contact our providers. Nokia makes an update but the providers have to change that update to their own settings.

Also i got the answer that Nokia doesn't know if there is going to be an update for the N97 mini, because they don't produce that phone anymore and that's why they have no clear vision on that.

But of course anyone at Nokia must give the providers any kind of update before they can change anykind of update so anyone at Nokia must know if there is being worked on an update.

When i got this reaction i can only think there isn't going to be any kind of update anytime soon.

We can only hope there is...

I just contacted my provider (T-Mobile) and they say that Nokia so far didn't give them an update to remodify. They also said that it was better to check the T-Mobile site then the Nokia site for any kind of update.

But isn't that strange? Because on the Nokia site you can also check for any type of phone if there is an update. So how does this work? Like my computer knows if i check the Nokia update site what kind of provider i have and it changes that download in a way that is correctly set to my current provider? I think all this is very strange. 

But yet again, no signs of an update anytime soon.

I must say, we all grew up with Nokia and the Nokia users love Nokia. But leaving us like this in the cold, a lot of current Nokia users will think again before they choose another Nokia phone.

When you surf on the ovi store it only shows you the apps that are compatible with your phone. If you try for example to go to the Angry Birds page it will show you a message telling that the app isn't compatible with your phone, here n97 mini.

The thing is that if you go to the chat app page on ovi store it says that the app is compatible with the nokia n97 mini. And as you know on the nokia official website in the chat support section the app is only compatible with an n97 mini with a PR 2.0.

Sorry if I have been misunderstood, I'm french...

Update : I saw two message from two people on french nokia dedicated website telling that they received on the 10th June a message from SFR (a french operator) saying that there is an update for the nokia N97 mini and they should go to the Nokia website to proceed. But they're still no update available.

In my opinion the update is done and ready to be used, but Nokia employees just didn't take the time to make it downloadable on the website. I'm preety sure the update will be available before July.

Well i still have hope on an update then.

I got a new message from Nokia. They said that they can only see new updates in their system when they are fully ready. And they cannot answer to speculations to the community because of a Nokia privacy rule.

But they would have terrible communications at Nokia if no one in their firm would know anything about an new update.

Just wait and see i guess...

I am facing bluetooth problems in Nokia N97 mini. It connects to my car (Ford Figo) and disconnects immediately but phone still remains in car kit mode. I have to switch it off and on again to make work in normal mode.

I think new firmware should help, any ideas?

Never Nokia again. I am waiting for Dec 2011 to ditch my N97mini.

You all speak about the N97 mini but what of the N97? I listened that Nokia will also make a PR3 for N97. If anybody can answer me?. I need it.

They are only going to release PR2 for Nokia N97 mini? And i'm seeing that they are releasing today new firmwares like for C6 and more, can it bee they release data of the firmware of the n97 mini near today.

my post was removed twice times but i can see in unauthorized software the chage for n97-mii rm-555 there is a new entry in FW section - 2011.05.11 called: 0545556: RM-555 FDSHA Migration Test Package 01 - what'is mean I do't know....
