The iOS4 works in the iphone 3g not all the function but works maybe they can do the same on the n97

Indeed it works and 3G is already three years old phone! For a phone that's a lot! N97 is now one year old and nothing new do not work on it anymore!

Nokia should at least keep us updated , no news what so ever

realy nokia boring support for nokia n97 plllllllllllllllllllz nokia support w need this update queq
2010-06-23 7:23
MAYBE this time the guys at nokia want to get it right unlike the previous fw update which was also surrounded by much hype but eventually turned out to be a bit dissapointing for some n97 users.........
WE (n97 owners) can only wait, and hope that the next update for our device makes it a little more worth the money we spent on it..... ![]()

The worst thing is when it's release , you still need to wait for your product code firmware to be release , then gonna waiting game again.

People, sell your N97 before it loses too much value and buy an n900 or something else.
The N97 is a dying duck.
2010-06-23 12:06
Not a dying duck if you ain't having problems with it.
Not everyone has a lemon. Much better than my N95 and that was a superb phone.
2010-06-23 14:06
What you say is correct, my is not a lemon too , I own a N95 8GB before , N97 just need a better firmware . ![]()

The N8 (discounting the lack of keyboard) is shaping up to be the phone that the N97 should have been. Given that Nokia scammed us with the N97 (they knew it was underpowered, they knew the firmware wasn't ready for release, and yet they still sold it to us as a flagship premium device), instead of fluffing around with minor firmware updates that will never make up for the lack of flash memory, the lack of RAM, or the slow CPU they should setup an exchange program where for US $100-150 with the trade-in of an N97 (with proof of original purchase) we get an upgrade to the N8.
This maybe the last chance Nokia gets to stop N97 owners from moving to Apple or Android devices and once this happens with the bad experience from the N97 and the cracking devices that the competition are offering it would be pretty unlikely that they come back to try any S^3 or S^4 Nokia devices for a long time. And for anybody who thinks US $100-150 is to low, remember that the N97 just 12 months old, sold for US $699, and when the N8 comes out the resale value will plummet from it's already ridiculously low value.

@SimonGle: and being "not very good" is not an issue by itself?
2010-06-23 15:43
When is the N8 coming out? My new iPhone will get delivered tomorrow, but I might get the N8 anyway as "2nd" phone
2010-06-23 16:22
As I understand it's not due until September but after reading, on an Australian Newspaper, the comments from the article below I think Nokia should give up on the smartphone segment and focus on producing high volumes of low cost pre-paid phones, as one commenter stated "too little, too late"
2010-06-23 16:38
There is always never too late
, must wait for the n8 to be release , then people use it will see. I was thinking of getting N8, but have to wait see how it goes
2010-06-23 16:39
What are you talking about? I don't understand
