Hey,

there's a new minor SW update available for Nokia C2-01 (RM-721 & RM-722): 11.40. This is a global release and should be already published for most countries/regions both via Nokia Suite and FOTA.

Key changes compared to the previous 11.20 SW version:

• A warning is now given when the volume is too loud
• Improvements to device memory management
• General performance & usability improvements

Nokia should also provide new software update for c2-00 so that new features like nokia browser, nokia music and other new apps are also availabel to c2-00 users.

It's quite unlikely that C2-00 would receive further SW updates (3.99 from May 2012 is the latest one).

This was available almost a month ago at least for the RM-721 and I even made a post about it here. But of course it's always good to hear from official sources.

About the C2-00: the last software before 11.40 for the RM-721 (Euro) was the 11.21 from November 2011 IIRC, so you never know. Of course the C2-01 has been a very popular phone overall, so it has a higher chance of getting new updates.The C2-00 is also an older model. Still, I was somewhat suprised to see the 11.40 after such a long pause.

PvtJoker: yes, sometimes I try not to post about the update too soon (especially if it's not a major update), if the update package releasing/approval is still in progress. that's pretty much what happened with this 11.40 SW update. but my intention is to always post the official note here (and get it to Nokia.com support pages) sooner or later, and with critical fixes I'd try to get that done ASAP.
