We have started rolling out a new software update for Nokia Asha 305 (RM-766): v.7.35. This is a major release and is should be available to most countries/regions via FOTA and Nokia Suite. Find the update instructions from here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-updat
Key changes compared to previous 5.92 SW release include:
PS. if you are using Nokia Suite, make sure you update the Nokia Suite client to latest 3.8 version first:
social app removed?
notifications error for new email ?
the update has been now rolled out to most countries/regions via FOTA and Nokia Suite. It's not available for India yet - I'm following the situation and will update you when I have more info to share on the topic.
if you update the device with Nokia Suite or take it to a Care service point for reflashing, the Social app is removed and directly replaced with new standalone Facebook & Twitter clients.
Even if you update the device via FOTA (in which case Social app stays on the phone), I would still strongly recommend downloading the standalone Facebook & Twitter clients from Nokia Store as those provide a better user experience.

as far as I recall, video streaming on this device model from e.g. Youtube never worked with full screen 320x240 resolution, just 176x144. actually the original sales start SW (3.60) didn't have video streaming support at all - the feature was added in previous 5.92 SW update.
as for local video playback - need to check this. downgrading is not unfortunately possible.
btw. India variants for the update should be now available via Nokia Suite. FOTA will follow probably tomorrow.

I have verified the issue with playback of videos with 320x240 resolution. we are looking into getting it fixed.
do you have a memory card inserted to the phone? if yes, the update package should have been temporarily downloaded there instead of phone memory, which could have helped with the issue.
the other option is to update the device using Nokia Suite.
still to add - could you tell me what is the product code of your device, so I can give the update a try myself using the same variant? you can see it from the label sticker of the device (visible when you remove the device back cover + battery). it's the 7-digit number which starts with 059xxxx.
