Hello,

There is a new software software update available for Nokia Asha 303: SW 14.76. The key changes in this software release are listed below:

• A warning is now given when the volume is too loud
• Correction for the Russian time zone
• Improvements to the display brightness
• Phone stability and performance improvements

The update is currently already available via Nokia Suite. FOTA update should follow soon.

why is this so called software update 14.76 NOT AVAILABLE for asha 303 here in the philippines whether OTA or Nokia PC Suite?

Im on SMART Plan and current phone software is V 13.44 04-11-11 RM-763 (c) Nokia

I tried it for more than 20 times but to no avail.

Also, there is no MAP on my phone and the CHAT is not working.

Is this also country related? I mean the updates andthe phone's function?

Firmware versions vary by Region/Product Code/Network locked or unlocked. When the update is available for your phone it will be shown via Nokia Suite.

My Asha 303 already has the v14.76 firmware. What I'm concerned about now is the usability of the Nokia Browser. My phone is running on Sun Cellular Philippines and I can't seem to use the GPRS even with the correct settings. Does the v14.76 firmware have the updated Nokia Browser already?

The browser update is not included in the device SW update. Those are deployed as a a separate over-the-air updates. There should be an automatic popup message when launching the browser if there is a new browser update available for download.

everyone who is not able to update  to 14.76 (or 14.87) - post your product code here and I will check the status.

product code is the 7 digit number which is printed on the device label sticker (which you can see when you remove the device battery), usually directly below the IMEI number. Usually it's in form: "059xxxxx". For example 059J6S3.

The browser update is not directly related to the device software update. The browser is updated separately.

If the browser update fails, there is generally 2 options: take the phone to a Care service point for reflashing or use e.g. Opera Mini instead of the broken Nokia Browser.. Reinstalling the software with Nokia Suite will not fix the problem, as I mentioned, browser is not included in the normal device SW update.

There seems to be SW 14.87 available in some areas and languages, but many are missing. Probably they will become available later. Perhaps armagon can tell us what the official word is on that.
