What is latest software version for the Nokia 6300? I have been informed there is a version 4.71 by a member on this forum which fixes a problem with music player. My phone has a product code of 0517028 and is currently using Ver. 4.70.
Where do I obtain Ver. 4.71 as the automatic sofware updater only shows 4.70 as being the latest version!

Try clearing your "temporary Internet files". Restart your system then try again. Perhaps it may help.

The music player had been updated the sound clarity has been improved a little. In Media Library Icons have been added, which actually looks good now.

There are also few other improvements, which i'm still fiddling with, will let you know once i find out

In case of missed call, the side blue lights keep on blinking till I check the phone. With the previous version,the blue lights used to blink twice and then stop.

i have had the same problem the updater shows 4.70 as latest version????????? also phoned my local nokia service centre and they told me 4.70 is the latest??????????? HOW DO I GET AN UPDATE AS THE PHONE IS SCREECHING AT ME LIKE A FIRE ALARM. ALSO WHEN EVER I USE THE PHONE WITH ANY NOKIA BLUE TOOTH CAR KIT THE CALLL QUALITY IS UNUSEABLE.

i heard v5.00 was latest for rm-217 6300

V5.00 is indeed the latest available. I purchased a handset from my local carphone warehouse store and updated it OTA to V5.00 from V4.71. This, I might add, is despite Nokia telling us on thei website that this model can only be updated via the PC updater program. One final point to note: if you "factory reset" the phone at any point, it will no longer allow OTA updates and ask for provider settings. It is well known that the above mentioned shop sell generic handsets with whichever network you choose. My advice is go to them and you wont encounter a branding problem. However, I have yet to receive a reasonable reply from a nokia tech as to why the settings are removed after a reset.

Dearest by now i have just finished my 6300 software update and the newest version was 5.00 actually i dunno what is the difference between it and the previous 4.71

Hi everyone can anyone tell me i have a nokia 6300 the rm is rm217 and the v is v5.0 the phone on making and receiving call intermitantly i get a high pitch whistling noise coming through is unbarable i have to end the call any ideas what the problem is please thank you
