Most of these are operator variants, so they are probably just waiting for operator approval before releasing the update. Mine is 059L5V1 (Nokia_700_RM_670_Country_Variant_UK_GB_V2_Black_G
Anyone from Nokia able to tell me the update is not available for my product code 059L5V1 yet? Last time skyee (Yvonne) was very helpful when I had a similar situation with my E7-00 and a UK product code. Maybe she can help again if she's around?
Thanks,
Al

Can I not go to a Nokia Support Centre and get a generic update through them? Or do I need to wait for the OTA update?
Many thanks,

You probably can, depending on the NSC you choose. It messes up the future upgrade path to some extent if you go down that route. Better that Nokia just release the update.
Regarding your original question - not as far as I am aware. I bought it through a "grey channel" a couple of weeks after launch, and neither the box nor the phone nor the firmware had any hint of branding (I use mine with a T-Mobile contract). It was also unlocked - I tried O2, T-Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Orange sims in it. Normally the product code description gives some indication if it is a variant for a particular mobile operator as well.
Hopefully Yvonne will be able to give us some good news next week!

I have the same UK unbranded product code 059L5V1. I had sent a series of (increasingly tetchy, I'm ashamed to say) messages to Nokia support asking what had happened to all the updates since 111.020, before accepting that they really didn't seem to know any more than I did.
I wouldn't mind so much if there simply were no updates. My Android device hasn't seen an update in the past year, and I don't care. What is so maddening, as better_belle said, is to see updates and new apps advertised for my device all over Nokia's sites, but then to be told that I'm not permitted to have them, that nobody knows why I'm not permitted to have them, and that nobody knows whether I will ever be permitted to have them or not. That feels positively insulting, especially having bought the device outright rather than through a contract.

It has been 2 whole weeks since first contact.
Has there been a zombie breakout over at Nokia UK? The weather has been quite miserable for the past few weeks...but hey...they can't just take two weeks off. :/
I can understand if this was the case of customers attempting to contact Nokia representatives, but this is a Nokia employee contacting colleagues! How hard could it be. Is it going to be five years? Twenty millenia? Four weeks? Never? *runs to corner of room and sobs*

Firmware updates are Product code specific right bat?
So if the 059L5V1 you and I use gets an update, I should get it too regardless of what carrier I'm using, right?
This is incredibly frustrating. This isn't something my service provider needs to sort out, it's Nokia's problem. I'm going to FUBAR my phone and debrand it and flash the ROM, invalidating my warranty if you guys don't get a move on and tell us what's happening.

Frustrating ... still no FP1 for:
059L5V1 (Nokia_700_RM_670_Country_Variant_UK_GB_V2_Black_Grey_VAR188848)
Makes me wonder what you have to do to get an unbranded phone updated (apart from the obvious).
Any chance you could check with the UK team again, Yvonne?

I've still not got a FP1 update for my Nokia 700 product code 059L3Z1. Like others on this forum I have Symbian Belle version 111.020.0308 and get congratulated by the Software Update app that my 700 is already fully up-to-date. I know this not to be true.

Patience, please... =)
I'm actually just in UK and will have a chat tomorrow with the responsible people to chase for the missing UK variants. But you will hopefully understand that I first and foremost I have my normal job to do and therefore some other meetings to attend as well (which also implies that I can't and won't post every single day here) - but I will check the situation for you guys tomorrow before I'm back off to Finland again.
