Unfortunately, it appears that somebody jumped the gun a little. We have checked with the software update team responsibile for preparing the roll-out of Belle to existing Symbian^3 devices and there has not been any plan to begin during next week. Current information is still, as has been previously stated, that the roll-out of Belle will begin during February.
The official word from Nokia is:
We have already shipped Nokia 603, 700 and 701 with Nokia Belle earlier this year, and have received great feedback on the new user experience. We have also started shipping new versions of Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 with Nokia Belle preinstalled. To make Nokia Belle available to consumers globally, we will start rolling out Nokia Belle for the already existing Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia X7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, Nokia Oro, Nokia E6, and Nokia 500 smartphones in February 2012.
And it is not true that the software is released in alpha-numerical order by model name. Software updates depend the phone product code, meaning that some regional, country and network variants may be released sooner or later than others - so don't worry, Stanely08, if you have an N8 or an X7 you are not at the back of the queue on the basis of your device model.

I think it's worth pointing out that as far as I've seen, Nokia have never said "first week". They've said February. That means Feb 29 would still be a valid time.
I hope people don't start screaming bloody murder if Belle isn't available in the first weeks of February...

If I understood one thing correctly, the upgrade to Belle would force a full clearing of your memory. So it is a more major upgrade than Anna was. And because of the full wipe of the phone, the OTA might not be a possible option. I read somewhere, that the upgrade to Belle would imply a backup, clean install of the phone, and then a restore to get your stuff back on the phone after the upgrade.

I would definitely not even consider what has occurred with so-called leaked versions as being what we all get. If Anna was anything to go by it would also not surprise me if Nokia did force a ovi/nokia suite only update.
You have to remember that carriers will have requirements that Nokia will need to comply with, so leaked versions obviously do not cater for these requirments, so at the very least Belle will be different due to the carrier requests, not to mention any extra changes that have been put in place, since the leaked version.
Also some carriers may request that updates only be allowed a certain way, as what was seen with anna, where for some customers they could only get anna thru OTA or only thru ovi suite.
Although based on the anna experience it certainly appeared that for many a full update has less issues than an update using OTA.
I would also see that nokia would also be releasing based on when a carrier gives approval just like last time. So some place will certainly get belle before other places.
