Okay, from what I can tell, being a US user, is that Belle is releasing ... someday. And we can assume that we will get it roughly 1-20 months after that day. Which means that we can expect Belle, at some point in time... maybe. Regardless, I am sure Nokia will keep is just as well informed as they always have.

1. Whether this ll b a update to existing belle handsets namely 701,700,603 from current symbian belle to nokia belle

2. Is there going to be any changes from being symbian belle to nokia belle.
Or the Symbian^3 users can expect the same experience as on preinstalled handsets of symbian belle

This is an update of first generation S^3 handsets to the same Belle which is currently running on the 701, 603, etc. The difference between Symbian Belle and Nokia Belle is only in the name, nothing else.

I can't understand why given that this has leaked out nokia wont just confim it is or isn't their intention to release on 08 Feb. even if the date is provisional.

my understanding of why there is no OTA is that the installation requires a full back up.

Please give a reference for that claim. As far as I know, they have not given any official word of "early feb". That has all been rumours and temporary web-pages that have been removed again.

"Starting in February" does not mean early February. They can start releasing the update on the 29th of February and it will still be "Starting in February". Your quote proves nothing.
