I am trying to update c1-01 on both nokia software updater and pc suite but it says ""up to date. device software version is 3.35 installed''''. although lastest phone software is availiable on nokia sopport site that is 5.40

can some body please help me how can i update my phone software using any of software

after pressing *#0000# i receive following information

moment ago i downloaded beta edition of nokia suite but didnt work

also i changed my destop pc to Laptop for update but useless

i just want to update with latest phone software

my Phone is company unlocked and nokia web site shows 5.40 update is available for c1-01 today i also tested my X1-00 handset same problem happen (says latest firmware installed) however updates are available on nokia site but NSU and PC suite doesn't seems to update current software 

I live in Pakistan is this the problem that all phone updates are not available for Pakistan

Updates do vary region by region, but also by product code. Being in Pakistan isn't a problem. It may b possible that the updates are available there but not for ur product code. You'll just have to wait. Eventually they'll b available. But no one can tell when.

I also live in Pakistan, and cannot figure out why phone won't update.

The chat function in my phone also doesn't work , it only shows nokia ovi chat , which is useless.

While on my c3 , it gives all four chat providers.

What should I do to fix the chat problem? I also reinstalled firmware

Greetings from Finland,
I have the same phone, the same software version. Nokia Suite announces available update and tries to update my phone, but the update fails every time. Tried with hp desktop with vista and another hp desktop with xp. With xp I get error 12048 or 12052. With Vista it just fails with no error number.
I have updated other Nokia phones succesfully, but this C1-01 is giving me problems. the ng85 reply is not usefull with our problem.

Finally I succeeded
I turned the MS Security essentials realtime protection off. After about three more the update was succesful.
I also had:
Battery full
Charger connected
"ask pin code" off
"usb mode" set "Nokia OVI Suite" (No ask)
I also had to reconnect the usb several times.

I am aslo trying to update my C1-01 s sw 6.05 to 6.15 but NSU & NS shows that it's the letest but few days ago my friend updated his C1-01 into 6.15.

Any one who wants to update their phone go to a mobile shop and tell him to update the software of your nokia it only costs 100 rs
