Hi,

I am using Lumia 710.
I was trying to update my OS to 7.8 with zune, but zune said that your phone is up to date. (8773). So i visited to the near Nokia Care Center, they tried to update the OS, but unable to update and return back me with some cause. (hard disk open or something else.)

And the phone is resetted and all my apps, games, photos & contacts are deleted.

Also told me to submit the phone to send it to Bangalore for L3 Support.

Can you tell me what the reason behind it??

as this is a user to user forum only for Nokia products and services, you will need to contact and liaise with your Nokia Care directly as for resolution of your phone issue, there is nothing we can do for you here unfortunately.

But this is related to Nokia only.

Why i am not getting updates? Even Nokia care is also not able to update.

So basically I am asking for reasons, which restricting my phone for updating.

There are two different issues here, firstly roll out to Zune of updates can take a while and secondly Nokia Care wouldn't use Zune to update your Lumia 710 so apparently device has a USB communication issue precluding installing firmware requiring escalation to Level 3 service centre.

I also faced the same issue Nokia care was unable to update my phone. My question is shouldn't all service centers be equiped with all the necessary tools to handle a customer query. Because I tried it in Rohtak service center, FYI Rohtak has only 3 service centers and out of them only one is in the main city others are in outskirts of Rohtak.

Not all service centers are the same. Depending on size of the covered area there are only a few which are equipped to undertake the more complicated issues, which occur not so often as the general everyday faults.

but no answer for the problem, why they are not able to update os???

Is there any hardware problem, or technical issue.

..or It may be as simple as what is stated in OP here ..which says.. "...you will be receiving the update by the end of February."

But one of my friend having lumia 710 and visited the same service center, and now he is enjoying the Updated OS, i.e. 7.8...!!!

Enjoying new OS 7.8.

Hip Hip Hurray... My Lumia 710 Updated with 7.8 @ Nokia Care Center, they said that now we have Updated OS for your phone. Earlier we don’t have the OS for the same.

It’s amazing, I am loving the tiles resizing feature and able to transfer data via Bluetooth.
