Re: Nokia OS

Hi, you will find a lot of information about those OS's googeling it, but mainly the s40 OS is a more basic closed so to speak OS for low and mid end phones which does normal tasks very well and can run some java games etc.

S60 and S^3 are smartphone OS's which let you install sis apps, good at multitasking, better for media, heavier games etc. Those Os's are usually to be found on mid end to high end devices.

This is just a quick little point in direction:smileyhappy:

Are you planning to buy a new phone? In that case, what do you want to be able to do with it?

Re: Nokia OS

I'm looking to get a new one as the old one that I have which was a Nokia 2630 was already worn out, but it lasted for 2 years.

I'm looking for a phone that has no issues accessing the web, has a great camera, and is lightweight. :smileywink:

Re: Nokia OS

Accessing web in what way? Reading a lot of articles, newspapers online etc? checking facebook, twitter and so on?

What do you mean by great camera? Do you want to have something that can replace a pocket cam or do you want just decent pics. Do you want autofocus btw?

Tell us a little more about the use, maybe also perhaps how much you want to spend on it and what you define about light weight? E.g the N8 has the best camera out there but weighs in at about 135 grams ( which I concider not uber light, but not too heavy either). The formfactor is a tad bulky, but it's nice to hold. Would a smartphone be overkill?

If you're going to browse the web a lot, I would recomment one of the phones with a bit bigger screen and also touchscreen for easy navigating within the browser. Do you think a N8 will be overkill? Only you can tell.

Re: Nokia OS

If you can live with fixed focus, I would believe that the c6-01 would probably be a nice buy. The price is possible to overcome, it has the latest and greatest symbian 3, it weighs about 130 grams, great screen for nice browser experience etc. It possibly costs a bit more than your old phone did, but offers plenty more.

But tell us some more. It might be that there are s40 devices which can do what you want.
