Thanks for the clarification Skyee, means a lot to all of us here. Glad to hear that the updates will not be delayed any longer than the end of week 7 for those of us waiting impatiently for the country variants
.
Commendation also for releasing such details for the update schedules, hope this will continue in the future for us customers who are very interested in when updates will arrive. Thanks also for all the effort being made in informing and being transparent with the customers ![]()

@PaulGrenfell: please read the post that Skyee has made up there. It explains why you may not have received the update yet. Also, those features you are asking for are not included in the current PR 1.1 release, but may be included in future firmware updates.

I read somewhere on Nokia Danmark that updates are rolled out according to sales, i.e. variants that sell the most will receive them first. Apart from that, I cannot offer any more advice. My guess is as good as yours as to why the rest of the variants are not listed. So I can't really speculate sorry mate.

Thanks you Skyee for your updates and information. This is the type of transparent communication that customers have long been asking for from Nokia and it is much appreciated.

And one more Q&A, as questions keep coming in.
"What happens to Symbian software updates after the WindowsPhone announcements?" - First of all, we're all excited about the partnership with Microsoft and hope you're feeling the same! When it comes to support for our Symbian range, there's some things I want to clarify:
WP7 is something that we're looking forward to, but we are not forgetting our existing consumer base who's using Symbian phones!

Great, this confirms that PR 1.1 is published for my N8 (059C640). I've been seeing the update in Software update for 3 days now but it prompts me to use a 'PC' to install the update. Of course, as a Mac user that is not an option.
However, in Device update (*#0000#) I'm still not seeing the update. 3 days! My update has been on Nokia servers for 3 days and I still can't download it. Is that normal?

Thanks skyee for making the list.
I am from Hong Kong and my N8 code is 059D159.
It's not in the list but I don't think there is any operator specific variant in Hong Kong...
I am so confused right now.

skyee wrote:1. "My product code is not in the list" - That means, we don't have a schedule for it yet which is in 99% of the cases due to the fact that it's an operator specific variant and your operator has to test & approve the release. That's a schedule we can't influence and we don't know when we get that approval to then be able to publish this software version.
Thanks for the Clarification Skyee. I understand the issues around Operator Variants as i've been here for quite some time. My question though, was about Country Variant product codes not being on the list for all colours. The device i have is the Orange colour N8 (059C5Q5) bought directly from the Nokia UK online store (so definately not an Operator Variant). I'm quite happy to wait a couple of extra weeks if i have to, but i don't understand why the update would be released for the dark grey UK Country Variant (059C5Q8) and not the others? Surely the firmware & content files are the same for both the codes i listed above as they are both UK Country Variants?
If you could clarify this i would be extremely grateful

Status "In creation" means your version is currently with our software teams and we will release it in week07
....
I couldn't see any definition of what "Week07" means.
I have a 059D Australian N8, and wonder if that Week07 means:
Could you please clarify?
Cheers
