Re: N8-00 Belle Refresh

Hi there,

We are located in the Boston area, USA, carrier is T-Mobile.

Question: Are we going to be able to update to "Belle Refresh" ?

When checking for updates, we are told that we are "updated",

however, when looking the  Device Manager, it tell us that

Latest Update was not updated...\

Other info that may help situating our phone software:

-> Software Version: 11.030.0609

-> Software Version Date: 2011-11-26

Thank you for your attention.

@portoalegre

Probably more helpful if you key in *#0000# upon dialler and post the seven character alphanumeric Product Code starting with "0".

if the update isn't available for your handset, would be best to contact T-Mobile and ask if they have any plans at all at providing the update to you or not.

No, they have nothing to do with it. These are not T-Mobile variants. These are unlocked, unbranded country variants. It is not possible to get a carrier locked version of the N8 in the US. Same goes for the other Nokia phones as well except C7 maybe.

Re: N8-00 Belle Refresh

sorry for the confusion mate. in which case, you will have to contact Nokia Care in the USA then who will be able to advise you on whether they intend to release the Belle Refresh update or not.

Re: N8-00 Belle Refresh

I am in USA too, with an N8, 700, and 701. Seems a lot of N8's worldwide didn't get the refresh. Conjecture has been that updating all the phones was too much trouble and too expensive, especially given Nokia's abandonment of Symbian. Reading some of discussions, I gather many people are upset. Nokia didn't give fp1 or fp2 to the 700 and 701 devices either , notwithstanding the promises to do so. Bad business.

Re: N8-00 Belle Refresh

Yeah, I'm dissapointed. Latest official USA Belle version (not refresh) drains the battery real fast on my N8 when 3G is enabled, even when not using the phone. Sounds like no fix is coming. Long time Nokia fan but no more Nokias for me.

Re: N8-00 Belle Refresh

hi Valdemar,

have you tried re-installing your current firmware thru Nokia Suite on your PC to see if it fixes the poor battery life?
