Can I use Nokia Software Updater with a Mac running OSX?

Nokia Software Updater does not work with Windows Media Centre, Mac, or Linux operating systems.
So how are Mac/Linux users supposed to update their firmware, or should we just not have Nokia phones?

Unfortunately the only option for those without access to a windows PC or a device that has FOTA updates is a nokia care point. It is unknown if a MAC updater will be released.
In future more devices will support FOTA updates so no computer will be required. FOTA = Firmware Over The Air. Unfortunately the E71 does not have FOTA updates available to it.
A nokia care point will update it for free (whilst under warranty), possibly while you wait.
If you want to complain about the lack of a MAC updater you need to use the "contact us" link at the top of the page. Complaints here may not be seen.

I don't know about the Mac situation, but can you name a single brand of phone that can be updated with a Linux machine?
More and more Nokia phones can be updated via FOTA nowadays anyway.
