Same here. Just bought N8 from Amazon and received it today (Dec. 2nd) thinking that Anna is ready to be updated. But SW Update says No Update Available!
My product code is the same as oscar11: 059D0V2
I'm living in USA. And isn't Anna roll out in USA has been completed already? Because my product IS ON THE LIST of US Custimized Variants that skyee originally posted.
Then what is the difference b/w "Generic North America Vanilla variants" vs. "US customized variants"?
skyee, please answer.

There doesnt appear to be any special about your product code.
according to the system its a silver/white N8.Maybe it was just missed in the rollout. have you left the your productr code on the No Update thread. And you could try sending a PM to skyee directly just asking it she is aware of the missing product code. Although she may be away at the moment. Most importantly add it here /t5/Software-Updates/No-update-available-Post-your
If you havent already.

Yeah, same here. I bought one off Amazon (059D111) product code, and saw no update available either OTA or in Nokia Suite.
2011-12-15 6:53
Not sure if you've already seen or heard about this, but the 059D111 product code for N8 (NAM) does not have the Anna update available OTA or through Nokia Suite.
2011-12-15 7:10
I have product code 059D111 and Anna 25.007 was made available OTA back on October 24. My carrier is AT&T.
Perhaps it's carrier dependent?
2011-12-15 15:44
That might be it, I'm on T-Mobile. It's sort of odd though, because I have a friend who has an N8, also on T-Mobile, but it is product code 059C8T6, and he has already received the Anna update.
2011-12-16 17:12
On second thought, I wonder how it could be carrier dependent, since the phone was bought unlocked. The software update should be coming straight from the Nokia server profile, anyway...
2011-12-17 2:55
Well, in any case you should be able to update using Nokia Suite or Nokia Software Updater on your PC. Perhaps there is some corruption in your existing software (I'm guessing PR1.2 - v14.xxx) that's causing it to not see the update? You could always try re-installing whatever Nokia Suite is showing as current software, reboot the phone and see if the Anna update appears. However, do a full backup first as you may lose some apps and data.

I tried it, but it still says everything is up to date.
I sent Nokia an e-mail, and they told me that Anna was released in America, but that it is still not released to models 059D111, which is really puzzling to me, since there is evidence of that here in the forum.
I guess I'll just have to sit tight and wait for it to come. I don't really understand why it isn't available if you have the same product code, but got it. Oh well, haha.

You are in the exact same position that i'm in! I have an E7 with product code 059F6L7, which was supposed to be one of the first customized US versions to recieve the Anna update way back at the end of October.
Now it can't get any firmware updates, and I tried everything from hard resetting to reinstalling and all. I'm with AT&T but that doesn't matter because my server profile is Nokia since it is unlocked.
When I contacted nokia they said based on my IMEI it isn't out yet but I'm wondering how that makes sense when it is posted right here in the forums!
/t5/Software-Updates/Symbian-Anna-released-for-the
I want to sit tight but I'm worried it will never show up unless I fight to make sure it does since something might be keeping this phone from updating. I just got it a couple of weeks back.

I'm right there with you. Nokia support just kept telling me that it wasn't ready for my IMEI, so there's really nothing I can do. I figure that this also means we'll be the last to get Belle, whenever that rolls out to other older S^3 devices.
2011-12-21 3:04
My only worry is that we never actually do get the upgrades for some reason. I can wait patiently if I'm sure there is nothing wrong, I've been bearing with Nokia's incompetence with the release of anna on my N8 before it broke due to manufacturing issues and I had to spend a month without a phone until I finally struck a deal with Nokia on an E7.
Has anyone confirmed getting such a late update to Anna at all? I feel like the updates aren't coming and this is just an excuse. I heard that some product codes are going directly to Belle but I'm not one of them, I was supposed to be one of the first to get Anna.

It really is frustrating. The person below me posted that 059D111 got the update, but 059D110 didn't, which is the opposite of what people above have been saying. I don't understand why it would matter what carrier, because even without the SIM card in, software update doesn't register anything.
I'm also dissapointed that no one from Nokia has responded, and the U.S. customers are left wondering what to do, since we don't have any Care Points near us.

Here is a thread topic that's similar to this one where people are having hte same issue:

I emailed nokia and looks like they didn't even bother reading through these threads. I got a response where the person literally told me to try using the software updater. I'm a little angry at how stupid they are assuming we are without even reading what we wrote on this issue.
Here is the response:
Hi Mohamed, Thank you for emailing the Nokia Careline. We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience you are experiencing with your Nokia device. In response to your concern, we thank you for your interest in the Symbian Anna software update. we would like to inform you that the Symbian Anna update is already available in the United States. To update your Nokia E7-00 device's software, we suggest you to use the Nokia Suite application. Before updating, you might like to backup your phone's contents using also the Nokia Suite. These can be restored once the update is complete. To download the Nokia Suite application, kindly click on “Get Nokia Suite” button from the link provided below: http://www.nokiausa.com/us-en/support/downloads/ Before updating, you might like to backup your phone's contents using Nokia Suite. These can be restored once the update is complete. Kindly follow the procedures below on how you can back up your files: 1. Connect the device to your computer with a USB cable. Your device may ask you how you want to connect. Select "PC Suite" and then select "OK". 2. In Nokia Suite, select "Tools" then "Backup". Nokia Suite reads your device and prepares a list of information that can be backed up. 3. Select the information that you want to back up. If you want to change where the backup file is saved, select “Browse” and choose another location. 4. Select “Start” to begin the backup. Do not disconnect or switch off your device during the process. If you need to stop it, select “Stop”. Nokia Suite will reach a safe stop point and will then stop the back up. Click “Finish” to close the backup wizard. Once you have finished saving all your files, you may now perform the software update for your device also by using Nokia Suite. 1. Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable. 2. Start “Nokia Suite”. 3. Select “Tools”. 4. Choose “Software updates”. 5. Then check if Symbian Anna is available for your device. If the Symbian Anna software is still unavailable for your device, please note that the said software update availability is dependent on the product code of your device. The product code of the device gives the servers idea of the variant, data compression and engineering of the device. If a certain software version is not compatible with the product code, it means that there is release yet that is known to work for specific product code. Please note that if your Nokia E7-00 device is Network locked then your mobile service provider, operator, or carrier may not have approved the latest Nokia device software available. In case your device is Network locked, we suggest you to contact your current service provider and consider the information that they will provide. In addition, please be advised that you may periodically check for updates of the Symbian Anna for your Nokia E7-00 device. Kindly follow the steps provided below on how to check the availability of latest software for your device: 1. Go to "Menu". 2. Go to "Applications". 3. Select "SW updates". 4. Choose "Options". 5. Select "Settings". 6. Choose "Auto-check for updates". 7. Select "On". 8. Then choose "Ok". We are hoping for your understanding and we appreciate your patience and cooperation regarding this matter. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again. To ensure proper handling of your case, kindly continue using the current subject line.
