Re: Symbian Anna

Hi

Just a quick question :smileywink:

When we finally get Anna, PR2.0 (or whatever you wanna call it) for the N8, will it resolve the problem with the sat nav?

At the moment when I use the Ovi Maps feature, the sound comes through the phone and not through the car speakers, and the only real way to hear it is to have the phone to your ear permanently whilst driving (which is illegal!). Never had the problem with my 5800 :smileysad:

Cheers

Re: Symbian Anna

@Janes : Though this point has been covered previously, the feature was disabled in S^3. Why? Go figure. I'm still waiting to see if anyone who has posted reviews from pre production samples to mention it. I desperately hope they do. Be pointless having the Sat Nav if they don't.

Re: Symbian Anna

Re: Symbian Anna

So, can anyone with Anna say whether Navigation thru a bluetooth headset works or not?

Re: Symbian Anna

[ Edited ]

That's interesting. I had heard that the sat nav / Bluetooth audio problem was because of S^3. The 5800 didn't use S^3 so that's why it worked fine. My calls work fine via BT and any email/SMS notifications make me jump because of the volume they come through at lol
Everywhere else I've looked at on the net regarding the problem has led me to believe that this won't be fixed but I hope Nokia prove me wrong :smileyhappy:

@PaulGrenfell
If your phone had the purple tint problem, has it gone away with this version of symbian anna you have installed? If you had any freeze/restart issues have they been improved or resolved?

Re: Symbian Anna

@Janes : I was in a thread about it which got deleted and the various replies I got from many sources was that that functionality was taken out. It seems that between Navigation and software depts, there is a sort of fractured relationship and they just don't talk. I think it may be a licensing issue as Nokia released free lifetime Sat Nav's to all there mobiles from S60 V5 onwards which effectively killed off standalone Sat Nav's. Maybe this is the fallout from this. The fact that it works in other modes proves to me it's definitely been disabled.

Re: Symbian Anna

Fingers crossed they bring in back with Anna then cos the Sat Nav is pretty pointless without that feature. Just gotta wait and see I guess!

Re: Symbian Anna - EAP-PEAP authentication without Certificates

I have asked this question earlier..

Has this update fixed the issue with EAP-PEAP authentication without certificates whe you connect to a Wifi network that requries this kind of authentication.

Re: Symbian Anna - EAP-PEAP authentication without Certificates

At anna's changelog there is no such thing . why you experience problems with authentication ? what are you trying to use ?
