My "countless bugs" "diatribe" as you put it, is not rubbish - go and read the threads - how many threads and how many complaints? Practically EVERY DAY somebody else posts about how they've "upgraded" and wished they hadn't because they can no longer go back to Anna.
flv is broken. Camera performance is significanrtly affected. Some apps just don't plain work on Belle, some no longer available. Countless issues. Configuration or options removed. Bugs and faults that have been apparent (like WiFi connectivity issues, since the N8s inception) not been addressed, in favour of a "more modern look" - well so what, for a "more modern look" - that's gonna make people feel better, if things have not been addressed for several firmware updates, yet the look and feel looks a bit more funky.
This is the thread about the effect of Belle on the N8's camera performance:-
How many threads have there been requesting the ability (fruitlessly, I might add) to be able to revert to Anna?
Look at these two threads:-
/t5/Nseries-and-Symbian-Smartphones/Belle-A-big-st
/t5/Software-Updates/List-of-Belle-additions-corre
Now admittedly, the 2nd thread might have much stuff that is wish list than pure bugs introduced by Belle - but all the same, there's a lot there that has. You can try and make out I'm talking rubbish, if you want - dig your head in the sand, King Canute-like and pretend there's no issues, that it looks funky, is modern, and you want it - then by all means.
But:-
1. Trying to make out that there's nothing wrong with Belle, other than a load of negativity bias, is just denial - this is not just in my head, or the simply a few pedantic whingers
2. I suspect Tesco are obliged and owe no more support of any firmware upgrades than they're currently doing - other providers rejected it, and presumably required changes, before they'd release it (Virgin being one). I suspect from a firmware perspective your phone works at least as good as when it was sold, so providers / vendors probably owe no more commitment than that.
I believe this is the current list from the additions / corrections thread:-

Issues with Belle aren't just trivial things, though - key things for the N8 - the camera - one of the major reasons people probably bought into the N8, has had it's functionality seriously and negatively affected by Belle.
Other key things, like flv support, many of the things broken that either are still broken or took time to fix (DAB for example).
As to the general comments - well even accounting for negativity bias - I've never seen this furore and clamouring for reversion with previous upgrades. Didn't see all this upset with Anna, nor PR1.2, nor PR1.1. Something is not like all the rest.
But putting aside our difference of opinion in the flaws of Belle, for a second - what is your true criticism of Tesco? What is it you think they are denying their N8 customers, who currently don't have Belle available? What key features or functionality have they been robbed of - well perhaps more accurately, what key features and functionality have they not had broken for them yet?
'cos from where I'm sat, the criticism seems to be - "Belle is modern, funky and over here... we want it now..." - when there's people regularly posting threads of regret wishing they hadn't "upgraded" to it, and wish they could go back - but as I said, ignoring that for a second, beyond a bit of form over function - what is it, specifically, about functionality on the N8 that not having Belle, you're being denied (beyond the things that will get broken...)?

I love how people just ignore others' posts on this forum.
Reaaaally nice community. :/
Your complaint seems about getting FP1.
Well I fear you're ignoring the Tesco N8 users, here - and they'll be apoplectic - 'cos FP1 isn't going to happen for the N8 at all.

@Jaff0
"So have any of you even managed to get the Belle update from Anna?"
You fail to read. :-)
It's pathetic by the way...the way you can't seem to accept others' opinions.
This isn't solely about the N8. We were discussing the way in which Tesco Mobile goes about updating firmware. You can b*tch all you want, but do us all a favour and keep it to yourself. There's a good lad. ![]()

Anyone got the latest on this? Just curious. Anna sucks and Belle looks like a poor man's Android. I was wondering whether it was worth getting another phone from Tesco Mobile. They've been so poor with Nokia updates and rubbish customer service that I'm deffo going for unbranded next time though. The real deal: Android. I only got the N8 because of the camera and the maps. Truth is that it's only good for a phone camera. Poor for a digital camera though. Easily buy compact sub £100 cameras which knock the socks off of it these days. Not even inconvenient to carry either. You can get offline maps on Android now too. Decision made! Anyway, thought it was worth a look before I **bleep** off from Nokia and Tesco Mobile! Miss you already! ![]()

I too, am a Tesco customer and will never consider buying a mobile from them again. Just to much hassle, not only for updates, but general customer service and cost.
But in looking for another phone, my decision is not so clear cut.
I know I don't want neither iOS, BB or Android and kinda had my heart set on WP7 via Nokia.
But having a good gander at many Handsets in a well equipped T-mobile store, I'm not so sure.
Obvoiusly all handsets have there plus and minus points, but WP7 may be hamstrung system because of the MS restrictions.
My biggest gripe is with the PIM. It's so basic and I thought I must of not been able to find it somehow. I had a look at the one Nokia 701 and knew I had to stay with Symbian.
Symbian does have many excellent business and personal plus points that I may be swayed to wait for the PV 808, though I hope it's incarnation of Belle is better than the ones available. That too with the impending doom of Symbian makes the choice harder to make.
But as I stated, won't be buying it from Tesco...

i also won't be buying another handset from tesco, i was looking at the nokia 710 windows phone at the wk end , carphonewarehouse have got it on offer and it's sim free, but i don't know what it's like compared to my n8 or the galaxy s2

Tesco have finally approved it. It's coming within the next 5 working days apparently!

looks like nokia are talking rubbish, still no update for tesco customers, if you talk to nokia they say it's tesco, talk to tesco and they say it's nokia,
customer service with nokia and tesco has gone down hill over the last year.
i'm glad my contract is up for renewal as i have just pre-ordered a sgs 3 on a different network,
so i'm not worried about getting the update.
as the old dragons say. on that note i'm out! .
2012-05-08 12:41
Nokia,
Please can you sort out this ridiculous delay in the Belle update for Tesco.
2012-05-13 11:16
I emailed tesco on friday and they had some one ring the next day, to answer my complaint about when it will be released.
their customer services didn't know and gave me another number to ring. i had to make another call to their technical support (0845 300 6660).
their answer? should be out by the end of this month.
i vented some frustration about how late their updates have been; anna and now belle. They put it down to their network in that it piggybacks O2 and so has a different set up. smells like BS. anyway to give a bit of balance he said if you were a galaxy S2 owner, your ice cream sandwich update was 3 months late too.
the learning point from this? don't buy a tesco phone if you want your updates to happen when they should.
2012-05-18 9:22
kerttu was your posting on the 26-apr-2012 a late april fool joke by any chance.
2012-05-18 9:45
I have asked Tesco and Nokia to advise on progress on the update and, maybe unsurprisingly, got different responses from each.
Nokia advised:
Hi,
I am told that this variant is still in final preparation, I'm afraid that I do not have any information on the reason for the length of time or when the release will be ready for release.
Regards, ..............
Tesco advised:
Thank you for your email in regards to the Nokia Belle Update.
As you are aware this is not currently available on the Tesco network. Nokia has provided the software to Tesco, and we are currently testing it to make sure that it is compatible with the network.
At the minute we do not have a set date when this will be ready. We are hoping to role this out in the near future, but we do not yet have an exact date, and any we could give you, would not be accurate.
Please keep an eye on the Tesco Facebook or Twitter feeds, as when we
release this we will be announcing it on these platforms.
Thank you for your interest.

FOR **bleep** SAKE.
Why does Tesco even need to check for compatibility if the warranty is with Nokia, and if there is only a small number of people who are using Nokia Symbian devices? If it's something like the iPhone I can understand, but **bleep**. WHAT THE ****. It makes no sense whatsoever.
It's not like there is an inbuilt tether function like Android devices that they need to disable. I feel for you guys still stuck on Anna. I'm here in a slightly better position using a 1/2 year out of date version of Belle.

Hi everyone,
concerning Nokia Belle update for Tesco N8, the update should finally be on the way now.
It seems that we had some information missing from our systems and unfortunately could not proceed sooner. Hope you find Nokia Belle enjoyable!
