Best thing is to contact 3 uk Here in ireland several operators STILL have not approved it which is pathetic.

My L800 is on THREE UK and it too is still waiting for WP7.8.

It took quite a while for those early 'battery-orientated' updates

to make it through THREE's verification system and on to Zune.

My expectation is that this tardy performance [sic] is likely to 

be repeated. THREE's attitude is somewhat reprehensible.

I've tried the so-called workaround ploy that apparently 

fool the system into early updating but found that it does 

not work... presumably folk-lore. Still, it would be nice if 

THREE UK could get their finger out now and again.

Hi I'm on Vodafone and like you still waiting for 7.8 on an 800 here in the UK, have been checking Nokias site for update dailly but as yet nothing showing and it seems there is around a dozen of us in Europe been keeped waiting for over 2 weeks after everybody else has been given the update very dissapointing.

Apologies if you've tried this but T-Mobile/EE update was issued in UK a few weeks back but I don't recall getting any notifications on the phone or from Nokia it was available. I just checked if there were updates using Zune and they came through.

I'm AGHAST... are you advocating that I eshew the Nokia

built-in programming (that reliably checks for updates)

and just try winging it with Microsoft? ;-)

I was told by someone from three that it was approved, just waiting for whoever to push the button to release it. i made a thread on here about it actually.

the latest version shown on the nokia website for software updates is actually lower than the one I have now.

I have a Lumia 800 on 3 UK. both phone and Zune informed me an update was available on 21st Feb. I started the update but it stalled at step 6 - restarting the phone. The phone turned off then stayed off. Could only turn phone back on by doing soft reset. By then Zune decided the update had failed.

The day before, the battery had gone flat and would not recharge. Was on charge for over 6 hours but still wouldn't charge. Had to perform hard reset to get the phone to start charging and turn on.

Whether thus caused problem with update I don't know.

Anyway, as phone was insured, I sent it to 3 for repair. They said they couldn't repair it and sent a replacement 800.

This has 7.8 already installed when I got it back on 1st March.

So I guess the update has been approved and just waiting for someone to push the button to release it on the servers.

good to know that it is definitely coming but just really irritates me that it takes this long and there is literally no information for the end user. At least when certain other manufacturers update their phones they inform the users of times and that.

What exact version are you on? do you hve this latest .8862?

As I said in my previous post, my replacement phone already had 7.8 installed. When I woke up this morning, phone was telling be an update was available.

So after connecting to Zune and installing two updates, I am now on .8862.144 which I assume is the fix for live tile data use.

FYI 7.8 was withdrawn at begin if of March due to a bug with live tile data use.

New fix was released 14th March to users already on 7.8 then should filter through to everyone else over the conning weeks.
