After updating my phone software to v20.0.015 I have a problem. Every time when I turn my phone off anf then turn it on I am asked to set date and time again, and Its happening every time I turn my phone on. Its very annoying. Has anyone have the same problem? How to avoid it?

Have the phone repaired. This is quite possibly a hardware issue (some capacitor intended to keep the clock on time is broken, or some related hardware fault).

Did you set the phone to update date & time from network?

Go into menu and pick - Tools, Settings, General, Date and time, Network operator time; set to Auto-update.

As someone said could possibly be hardware problem.
Have u tried the three finger reset and reintall your firmware then hard reset?

This sounds like the "Nokia Real-Time-Clock Battery Failure" I have several handsets that have this. Generally old handsets like the 6230 and the 6100 that I have kicking around here exhibit this behaviour.

The clock simply doesnt retain time or date on removal of the power.

I think my N95 did this once as well. However I think they may be using a different technique in the N95, because this happened to me when I left the battery out of it for around 2 hours, the clock did not come back and I initally thought oh not another handset with this fault. I then put the battery back in powered the phone up, and left it on the charger overnight (by accident rather than on purpose) This must have recharged the back-up supply and the phone no longer does it.

this guys says when his battery is still in the phone whenever he restarts it does that.

In that case as you say in an earlier post, a reflash, and full reset may help. Other than that, as petrib says there is a fault with the handset and it needs to be looked at.

reset your time zone,
if your problem is,still.
upgrade your phone with version(21.0.016)

The three finger reset:
"3 finger reset" simultaneously hold three keys: "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone whilst keeping those same three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.

well i tried everything: 3 fingers reset, hard reset, installed software again, took the battery out for 2 hrs - nothing halped
i just have to wait when a new v21 will be available for my product code (0549001) and hope this mistake wont bother me again.

Exact same problem here. Phone loses time and date settings when powered off but battery still in place and fully charged. Think it looks like it may have to be put in for repair.
